The training will be led by Zoe Partington and Louise Fryer, both highly experienced Disabled trainers. Zoe is a Disabled artist and trainer who has many years of working with Galleries and Museums across the World, developing the inclusion of Blind and partially sighted people. Dr. Louise Fryer is a teaching fellow at University College London (UCL) and the author of: "An Introduction to Audio Description: A practical guide."

The training sessions will be in small groups (max 15 participants)

At the end of the training delegates will be able to:

  • Understand what it means for people to live with sight loss and describe the barriers they face in relation to cultural and artistic venues
  • Demonstrate with confidence the appropriate etiquette and skills to use in guiding blind and partially sighted people
  • Identify methods by which museum, gallery and heritage buildings can be made more inclusive and accessible to blind and partially sighted visitors
  • Use appropriate approaches to describe images and objects to blind and partially sighted people
