PROCESSIONS Banner ExhibitionAll Projects
Seven textile workshops took place between February and June 2018, culminating in the formation of a group of keen participants, who have named themselves the Shropshire Subversive Stitchers.
The group created a banner which was paraded throughout the streets of Cardiff on 10th June as part of Artichoke's mass participation art project PROCESSIONS 2018.
The banner will be on display at The Hive, Belmont Shrewsbury from 26th July - 2nd August, (open Tuesday - Friday 09:00-17:00) before touring in a larger exhibition of banners made by the 100 groups who were selected to receive funding for the project, of which DASH was one. You can also find out more about the workshops, how the banner came together, who made it and view footage from the procession itself.
Join us for a celebration of the achievements of the group and other participants on Thursday 2nd August from 5:30 - 7:30pm. Please register via Eventbrite to confirm your attendance.
You can read all about the project, including blog posts and a project report here on the DASH website. The Shropshire Subversive Stitchers plan to continue to meet to work together on future projects.Find out more about by joining their facebook group.
