Arts Council England declare commitment to Social Model of Disability

At DASH we are thrilled that the Arts Council Englandis declaring this commitment.

ACE state that: "We’re committed to improving access for disabled people across the creative and cultural sector, including at Arts Council England.

Our work is already guided by the Social Model of Disability, which shows that society creates barriers that limit disabled people’s participation in everyday life.

We are strengthening and refreshing our work in this area. One way we are doing that is by adopting a statement on the Social Model of Disability, which sets out a vision of how we will change.

We want to make the Arts Council a leader in accessibility and help actively remove the barriers faced by disabled people we work with."
