Culture of Care Nest
“The Culture of Care Nest is such a creatively devised and presented offering to anyone seeking a much more inclusive, considerate and gentle means of agreement” - Steph Shipley
About two and a half years ago, during the first iteration of Rewilding the Artist, we started to wonder whether we could design a ‘collaborative contract’ to build a Culture of Care into working agreements between individuals and organisations. Through various conversations it turned out that we were not alone: Iwan Williams, Ffiwsar, had also been thinking along similar lines. Together with Iwan, we worked up a draft framework for a collaborative contract, which included a ‘Good Faith Agreement’ designed by Nick Cherryman.
Then, in partnership with Utopias Bach we explored how we could reimagine and combine them in one cohesive working tool which offers something unique and refreshing to freelance artists and organisations working together?
After eighteen months of writing and testing with Utopias Bach, Carreg Creative and Ffiwsar, we are now proud to present:
This complete set of free-to-download resources and examples includes a framework of questions and materials with which to weave a Culture of Care Nest Agreement with one or more people you want to work with. Rewilding Nest Agreements are for everyone and sit along side a standard working contract.
What is included in the Nest Box?
The Nest Box is a downloadable collection of tools and is available in English and Cymraeg. It includes the following:
Nest Box Introduction: An introduction to the Nest Box, it’s contents, and how to create your own Nest Agreement.
Nest Agreement Template: A blank template together with a set of questions and options for you to work through.
Standard Freelance Contract Template: This contract goes into more ‘formal’ agreements that might complement your Nest.
Real Life Example: One real life written example of a completed Nest Agreement.
On the web page there are also some videos of real life examples.
We will be Fledging the Nest Box with a short online introduction over the next few months. If you’d like to receive an invitation please email rewildingtheartist@gmail.com
