Cultivating spaces for extraordinary artists

Carrie Slawinska (she/her)

Carrie joined the team in March 2015 as DASH's Administration Assistant. She became our Administration and Communications Manager in early 2018, and following maternity leave in 2019, returned to the team as Administration and Communications Assistant.

She has previously worked as a freelance artist, and in a variety of arts administration, technical and curatorial roles for various Midlands-based galleries and museums.

"Working for DASH is both challenging and rewarding. Over the last nine years, the work we have been doing has contributed considerably towards a shift in arts organisations becoming increasingly aware of how they can be more inclusive towards Disabled artists and audiences. The Board are really supportive of the great work that DASH are doing. I'm proud to work with DASH to bring Disability Arts to mainstream audiences and to support both early-career and established Disabled Artists."

Carrie studied Fine Art at Staffordshire University and has delivered practical arts and crafts sessions in a range of settings, including schools, galleries and museums and the Beacon Centre for people living with sight loss in Wolverhampton.

She is also a carer for a family member and two young children.
